Just having entered her fourth decade on this planet Beth McElhiney is in her artistic prime. Having traveled extensively studying the anthropology and magic of many native and aboriginal cultures Beth has become a storyteller with her hands. The places she has been influences the designs that she creates in metal or stone.

"I travel alone a lot in the winters often to places that I do not speak the language. So I sit and observe my surroundings and the people. I write about and draw what I see. It might be the cornice molding in a castle room, an ancient coffered ceiling in a church or the ornate carvings on the prow of a gondola. The interlacing lines draw my mind back to another time and then connect me forward into the future. Patterns and symbols are timeless and cross cultural. They are the basic language of all humanity speaking our inner truths without prejudices. By interpreting them we can come to a common understanding of ourselves and the world."   Beth

Exploring her own Irish-Russian heritage has led to the Decorative collections of jewelry pieces. These unique finely made jewelry collections blend sterling silver, 18k and 22k gold with Pearls and semi precious stones. Bold color combinations work in tandem with heavy metal worked with ancient patterns incorporating ancient alchemical and runic symbols. Her work often features archetypal images that cross cultures and evoke memory while retaining a modern sensibility. Stones are chosen for particular healing or balancing properties, yet it always looks fresh, contemporary and easily wearable now.

Beth especially enjoys her special order work and the challenges of creating for a bridal party or individuals with special events to go to. Through the study of healing energies she has been commissioned to create numerous jewelry pieces for specific purposes such as protection or the healing of an illness. She welcomes these requests and will dive as deeply into the magical side of the work as the client is open to.
